No One Is Really Interested.... the prayer of the cynic

In this world, it seems no one truly cares,

Out of sight, out of mind, we hide our despair.

We try to share our pain, but it falls on deaf ears,

Only when self-interest arises, do they finally appear.

Awards and accolades, these shallow gestures we see,

But can they truly provide for our loved ones' needs?

With self-centered minds, they cast us aside,

Chasing better opportunities, leaving us behind.

A snapshot before action, a display of false intent,

Lost priorities, in a world of selfishness we lament.

It seems no one is truly invested, no one shows concern,

Yet, in moments of unexpected kindness, a spark begins to burn.

When altruistic charity arises, and compassion is unfurled,

In these acts of love, we witness God's grace in our beautiful world.
