A Lament for Southport’s Lost Daughters
Three innocent souls, in dance, their joy did bloom,
Cut down by cruel fate, in unmeasured woe.
A mother’s cry, a father’s heart consumed,
In grief so deep, no words could ever show.
O God, where is the justice that we seek,
When trust is torn and chaos reigns the night?
The streets, once calm, now echo with the weak,
Who raise their voices, yearning for the light.
Innocence shattered, terror filled the air,
As young lives fell to violence and dread.
And yet, amid the anger and the pain,
We seek a peace, where hope and love remain.
For those who mourn, may solace find its way,
And lead us through this dark, tumultuous day.
