O' ICARUS!

O Icarus, hear your father's cry!

Hear the warnings, do not fly so high!

The heavenly firmament you wish to see,

Alas, you long to know how a god can be.

You bask in the holy light of day,

The divine light swells your heart,

The wax and pinions melt away,

You've reached the peak, you're the loftiest of all,

How the mighty will fall.

The water nymphs cradle your mortal frame,

Tears fall, so much sorrow they contain.

The father turns to the sky and wonders what glory his son did view,

Ignore the warnings of the old, it's true.

See the heavens and be oh so bold,

But beware the consequences, for they unfold.
