Prayer of Gratitude and Blessing for All Creatures
We gather today in gratitude, welcoming all beings into this sacred space—human and animal, friend and companion, seen and unseen.
For our animal companions who share our homes and our
hearts, we give thanks.
For those with silky fur, brilliant feathers, or soulful
eyes, who bring joy with their beauty, we give thanks.
For those whose energy knows no bounds, the ones who greet us with boundless enthusiasm and remind us to live in the moment, we give thanks.
For the small ones, the timid, and the bold—who ask for
little and give us everything, we give thanks.
For those who are loud, messy, and imperfect, who demand our patience and love, we give thanks.
Blessed are the creatures who walk beside us, who teach us
about loyalty, joy, and the sacredness of all life.
Blessed are the animals in the wild, those whose lives are
fragile, whose voices we may never hear, but whose presence in the web of life
is essential.
Blessed are the beings who remind us that we are never alone on this Earth.
In their eyes, we see reflections of the divine, in their presence, we are reminded of our duty to love, to protect, and to cherish all living things.
May we walk gently with our animal companions, honouring
their lives as part of the same sacred creation we share.
And may our hearts grow wide enough to encompass all creatures, great and small, with compassion and reverence.
Amen.
