An Eye for an Eye Makes the World Blind

In the heart of Gaza, where children play,

Lies a story of sorrow, night and day.

Little hands, little feet, in alleys roam,

Amidst the rubble that was once their home.

Oh, the innocence lost in war's cruel game,

Where each side's vengeance fans the flame.

An eye for an eye, the old saying goes,

But in this cycle, endless sorrow flows.

Tiny hearts bear burdens too heavy to hold,

Their eyes, stories of despair untold.

Brothers, sisters, in the dust they lay,

Dreams unfulfilled, in the light of day.

The politics of nations, blind in their might,

Cast shadows over what is just and right.

In corridors of power, where decisions are made,

The cries of the innocent begin to fade.

But hear me now, O leaders so high,

Your actions leave these children to cry.

In the name of justice, in the name of land,

Can't you see the blood on your hand?

A mother weeps, her child no more,

In the unending cycle of this brutal war.

Fathers mourn, under skies so grey,

Wishing for peace, in some distant day.

Oh, world so blind, can't you see?

This isn't how humanity should be.

Children of Gaza, of every creed and hue,

Deserve a life, bright and anew.

In the West, in Israel, hear this plea,

Open your eyes, let compassion be.

For every child in fear and dread,

Is a stain upon humanity, the great mystery observes with dismay.

"An eye for an eye," so the world goes blind,

In the quest for peace, let's be more kind.

For the children's sake, let's rewrite this tale,

Where love and hope, finally prevail.

In this plea, a call to all,

To catch these children before they fall.

To build a world, safe and free,

Where every child can just be.

So let us stand, hand in hand,

For the children of Gaza, across the land.

To challenge the blindness, to make a stand,

For a world of peace, that's truly grand.
