Luke 14:33

So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple

"What exactly am I supposed to give up? My possessions? What about my wife, child, home, and the income I need to support them? Is this what it means to be a disciple - to renounce everything and become destitute?

 But no, renouncing everything to that extent would make me a zealot, an extremist. That's not what I want. I'll pursue my dreams elsewhere. Perhaps God has a different calling for me. How many people have suffered because of blindly following a different culture, language, or time period? How much false prophecy has been preached from the pulpit?"
