the innocent and the good
"I crumbled under the weight of everyone's pain,
I fell flat and bloodied.
It didn't matter that I lay broken... their perspective on life
was the crucial issue,
the life they lived... the life they believed was right... the
life without alternatives.
It seemed fitting that I was battered, for they did not comprehend
their actions... and so I had to reveal to them the horror of their pain.
They dragged me to the hill, nailed me to the cross, and hoisted
me up for all to witness: the most ignominious of deaths.
I forgave them for their selfishness, their ignorance, their
blindness! And as my final breath escaped me... they turned to another, for
their suffering was quenched by the blood of the innocent and the good."
